Hi, I’m Shifa Farooq. I’m the creator who runs this site. I’m a Water Quality Association Certified Water Specialist (CWS), and I have studied water treatment and filtration for five years.
My Background
I entered this field after a water issue at my home that no remedy could fix correctly, and it led me down an investigation rabbit hole I couldn’t escape.
My certificate includes water chemistry, contaminant detection, as well as the design of treatment systems; that is what I use in every post on this blog.
What I Do Here
- I try out filtering systems, softeners, and purifiers in real-world settings at home before analyzing the systems.
- I verify contaminant and health claims with EPA information and NSF/ANSI certification guidelines
- I revise older articles as laws, products, or the data I provide change.

Why I Write This Myself
The quality of water affects the things your family eats, drinks with, bathes in, and cooks each day. It’s not something that you should leave to artificial intelligence or unreliable assumptions. So all content on this site is my personal research, tests, and judgement.
